I’m having an intense writer’s block atm, therefore I’m going to talk about my modest outfit of the day!
For the first time I decided to rock this duster as a dress. I replaced the waist belt with this beautiful chiffon scarf. Love the way it turned out, specially how the scarf colors go with the camel tone.
A waist belt or a scarf tied are definitely not enough to turn this cape into a dress. I had to wear denim shorts under it, to avoid being overexposed during the photo shoot. To turn it into a ‘safe’ dress, making some hidden stitches with a needle and thread might be the best thing to do. This could restrict some leg movement but not as much as a pencil skirt would, right?
When it comes to accessories, I mentioned on my 5 Current Favorites Video that I’m slightly
very obsessed with woven straw bags. I believe they instantly give a ‘Summer holiday’ vibe to any outfit.
Woven bags are very cheap here in Mozambique. One of those abundant artisan goods that I never cared about until Instagram bloggers made it trendy. Last Summer when I was in the UK, I couldn’t wait to come back home in order to purchase woven bags. The first one I bought, I styled in this post. This is my second one and there’s a third I’ll be styling soon. There’s nothing more trendy, cheap and ethical to buy so I’ll be adding more to the collection!
So, would you rock a your favorite duster as a dress? Or would you rather get a wrap dress instead? 😀 Let me know!
